Tubing Guide

Walk Up or Reservation
-Reservations are not required, but suggested on weekends or Summer Holidays.
-We accept walk ups the day of (Memorial Day- Labor Day).
-Reserve online and save time at check in.
-Online reservations close midnight the night before the event.
-CASH ONLY walk ups the day of the event.

Where to Meet
-All tubing trips meet at the West Columbia Riverwalk and Amphitheater (just off of the Gervais Street Bridge).
-The address is 131 Alexander Road West Columbia, SC 29169.
-Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your shuttle time.

Shuttle Times
-Shuttles are offered 7 days a week during Memorial Day through Labor Day (weather and water levels permitting).
-Shuttles depart at the top of every hour :
Saturdays from 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM (hourly)
All other days from 12:00 PM -4:00 PM (hourly).
-Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to find parking and check in.

Type of Tube
-Double Tube $85 - Seats 2 people, mesh bottoms, and space in the middle for a cooler.
-Star Tube $30 - Lightweight and roomy, mesh bottom and D ring for easy tethering.
-Deluxe Tube $25 - Most popular, cloth cover around tube, mesh bottom, and D ring.
-Standard Tube $20 - Durable vinyl, two handles, open bottom.

What to Expect
-Float under Spanish Moss and through rushing rapids on this 3 hour adventure.
-This section of the Lower Saluda River stretches from just above the Riverbanks Zoo down to the Gervais Street Bridge (known as Z to G by the locals).
-Adventurers only: this trip contains class II rapids, children must be at least 10 years old and guests must be moderately active.

What to Bring
-Everyone must have some type of foot protection (flip flops are ok but something that straps to your foot is best).
-Bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen), water, snacks, and bag for any trash.
-Leave a pair of dry clothes and dry towel in the car for after your trip.
-No glass bottles or styrofoam coolers.

Parking
-All shuttles for tubing trips leave from the West Columbia Riverwalk and Amphitheater (131 Alexander Road West Columbia, SC 29169).
-Parking at the West Columbia Riverwalk is extremely limited. We encourage using a ride share service like Uber or Lyft.
-There is additional River District parking at the following locations:
Carraway Park– 212 Hudson Street, West Columbia, SC
West Columbia Free Parking Garage– 310 Court Avenue, West Columbia, SC
Capitol Square- 475 Sunset Blvd. West Columbia, SC (5 minute walk)

Cancellation Policy
-Cancellations made more than 30 days before the date of your trip will receive a full refund, minus a 10% convenience fee.
-Cancellations made by 12:00 PM noon 48 hours prior to the date of your trip, will receive store credit good for one year from the trip date, minus a 10% convenience fee.
-No-shows on the day of the activity and cancellations made after noon 48 hours prior to your trip date will not be considered for store credit or a refund.

Weather
-All trips go rain or shine.
-Late afternoon showers are common during the summer.
-Take an early shuttle to avoid the late afternoon showers.
-No refunds are given the day of the event.
-If there is possible bad weather the day of your trip, we suggest reaching out at least 48 hours prior in order to receive store credit (minus a 10% administrative fee).
-Refer to the Terms & Conditions page regarding refunds and store credit.

Age Limit
-Children must be at least 10 years of age to participate on our full length tubing trips.
-This trip has a class II rapid, which has the ability to capsize a tube.
-For families with younger children, we suggest our Three Rivers Rental.
-Our Three Rivers Rental takes place at the West Columbia Riverwalk, and includes only a tube and a life jacket (no shuttle). Walk upstream via the West Columbia Riverwalk, like a natural water park, and float downstream, exiting at the Gervais Street bridge. Walk up and float down as many times as you’d like.

Cooler Policy
-Glass bottles and styrofoam coolers are not permitted on river trips and will not be allowed on the shuttle bus.
-We cannot see any consumption of alcohol before or after your trip.
-It is illegal to have an open container of alcohol in the West Columbia Riverwalk. No drinking in the park before or after your trip.

Footwear Required
-Everyone must have some type of footwear to participate on our river trips.
-No bare feet.
-Flip flops are ok, but something that straps to your foot is best.

-Take tubes offsite, must return by 7 PM

-Commercial grade vinyl tube only (no deluxe, no super star)
-Choose this option for the family friendly Three Rivers Rental option for families with children under 10 years old.

B.Y.O.T. - $15
-Bring your own tube, ride shuttle to private put in location, includes 1 life jacket
-Tube must have a “Boston Valve”
-No pool floats, no plastic mouthpiece valve floats
-Bring tube DEFLATED and we will inflate it onsite
-Guests are responsible for their own equipment; Palmetto Outdoor is not responsible for any lost or damaged equipment.
