Tandem Kayak

Boating for two peopleInterested in exploring the River Systems of South Carolina with a friend?  Palmetto Outdoor Center has several tandem kayaks that allow you and a friend to be the captains of your own ship!  Reserve your tandem kayak today, rentals are available January through December.

Shuttles Run:
Sat. - 10am, 12pm, 2pm
Sun. - 12pm & 2pm

  • Rental includes tandem kayak, 2 personal flotation devices, and 2 paddles
  • Shuttle transports guests and equipment up the the Riverbanks Zoo
  • Guests may paddle upstream or downstream to Gervais Street Bridge
  • Trip duration lasts 2-3 hours depending on experience
  • All equipment is due back to our booth at 7:00 PM
  • Great option to put a dog in the front seat

Tandem Kayak Experience:

There is no better way to spend a day with a friend, family member, or that special someone than on a tandem kayak!    All of our tandem kayaks are sit on top kayaks with two seats (seat back on request).  Tandem kayaks give your group the mobility to start heading upstream from our drop off location or to start heading downstream to our booth location.  Leisurely paddle around to take in the scenery or paddle harder upstream for a great, fun workout!  For beginners, we suggest getting your feet wet on The Three Rivers Rental.

How It Works:

Meet at our booth location in order to start your rental.  From there, paperwork and payments will be processed, cash or check please.  A quick 10 minute shuttle ride up to the Riverbanks Zoo is the only thing that separates your group from your own river adventure!  Paddle around and see what the River Systems of South Carolina have to offer!  Once you've completed your adventure, pull the kayak up on the bank at Gervais Street Bridge, send someone up to our booth, and our staff will come pick up the equipment and handle the rest!
